The Costa Brava
is a stretch of coast beginning about 40 kilometres north of Barcelona and comprising
the entire coast of the province of Girona. Scenically it is an absolutely beautiful
region with many rugged canyons between which various hidden small bays of finest
sand wait to be discovered. Among
all interesting spots for sailing and diving along the Costa Brava, the Gulf of
Roses and around Cape Creus needs to be separately mentioned.
 This
vast and sandy region is evocative, owing to its name, of some important episodes
of the country´s history - from Roman rule to Napoleon´s occupation. It is assumed
that Roses is exactly at the same place as ancient Rhode, a Greek colony established
