Thailand – Far Eastern charm
Thailand
is famous for its pure culture, its endearing people and
its excellent cuisine. What is less well known is that the
coast of southern Thailand boasts beautiful beaches, picturesque
tropical islands, crystal-clear water and splendid conditions
for sailing that can compete with the best coastal waters
anywhere in the world. Let
yourself be enchanted by the warm hospitality in this country
and enjoy a special kind of sailing cruise. |

Entry
requirements
For a stay of up to 30 days, EU citizens require a passport
which is still valid for at least 6 months when they enter
the country – children require their own passport
or must be entered in the passport of a parent – children’s
ID cards are not accepted.

Thailand
is an all-year-round destination. The temperature
hovers constantly between 28 and 32 degrees Celsius.
As in other tropical territories, there are two seasons.
North-easterly winds dominate from November to May
and hardly any precipitation falls. The sailing conditions
are superb, with wind speeds of from 15 to 20 knots.
In the months from June to October, the direction
of the wind changes. The south-westerly wind brings
with it frequent short bursts of rainfall which quickly
pass. During this period of the year, sailing is confined
to the sheltered waters of Phang Nga bay.
The tides can rise up to 3 metres.
